Wauregan Mills was constructed in a series of periods including 1853, 1859, 1867, with the red building along South Walnut Street added in the 1950’s. The Historic mill has a definite presence that displays a sense of potential. The combined expression of the stone walls and multi-tower elements, wood timber construction, rhythm of windows with cascading light, and miscellaneous details provides dynamic opportunities for a new life in this adaptive re-use project.

The mill complex, the improvements of the subject property, covers 375,491 gr 292,339 net sq ft square feet, most built before the Civil War. The two largest buildings are 50' wide and 500' long, in a three (3) stories configuration with the addition of attics and basements, were built in 1853/1859 and 1867-68. The buildings sit parallel to each other, about 150' apart but are interconnected by a smaller structure. Several smaller structures, including two (2) paved areas
