Vintage style swing doors open to a middle room highlighted by a lighted, European store shop style bay window, handcrafted by Stewart Willems, area architect, artisan, and carpenter. Willems also utilized wood from a 200 plus-year-old cabin throughout the first floor renovations.
Banquet Hall Area
Bettina Messersmith, the wall muralist, rendered the faux woodgrain soffits, window pane designs, old world style paintings on doors, and many interior touches. The front door and support posts of this event reception/ party/dinner theatre/room have been carpenter-enhanced with more original, hardwood chestnut. Enjoy a private office, and the convenience of a full bathroom with a shower unit, as well as a, conveniently tucked away washer and dryer room. Outdoor mural paintings are also the work of area artist, Bettina Messersmith.
Restored Barn:
The large, upstairs, cathedral style barn is a rarity. Approximately 120 years old, it was crafted from area chestnut trees during a chestnut blight. The owner has supported the lofts and added wide stairs to accommodate band equipment and your large numbers of guests. The vintage crystal chandelier conveys, as well as a large supply of
seasoned, natural chestnut beams to complete the railings and add other matching, touches. Stairs by Ralph Brown, assisted by Adrian Willems. https://vr360imaging.com/3d-model/5792-shepherdstown-road-martinsburg-wv/skinned/
