According to the US Census Bureau, The Dallas / Fort Worth metropolitan area’s 146,000 population increase in 2017 was the most of any metro area in the United States.

This equates to an average of 400 new residents each day moving into the Dallas / Fort Worth area. Six of the top 10 fastest growing counties in the United States were also in Texas, including Tarrant, Dallas, Denton and Collin.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that Dallas / Fort Worth gained more jobs than any other metro area in 2017. In 2017 the Dallas / Fort Worth employment base increased by 90,000, dropping the unemployment rate to 3.3%. Out of the 90,000 jobs added, 37% (33,000 jobs) can be attributed to the office sector.

As a result of the impressive population and job growth, overall office absorption totals for Dallas / Fort Worth reached 1.5 million square feet in 2018. In addition, 26 million square feet was absorbed from 2011 to 2017. Reacting to the activity, asking rental rates (full service) across all classes of office space reached $26.39/sf at the end of 2018.
