One of the great things about a start up is that it forces you to get out of your comfort zone, expand your circle of contacts, and walk the tight rope. There are so many great people I've had the opportunity to meet and/or communicate with, way too many to mention. When you're out there sticking your neck out and opening your wallet to try to create value not only for yourself but for your community, it is incredibly valuable and comforting to find people willing to give you support, and provide some sort of safety net.
Linda Day Harrison, founder of The Broker List, is one of the amazing people I've encountered on this journey. She is generous with her knowledge, contacts and time. When I learned that she would be in Las Vegas when I was there for ICSC RECON16, it was an imperative that we find some time to finally meet in person. We started working up plans to have dinner. After giving it some thought, I realized that there were probably dozens, if not hundreds, of RECON attendees that were members of her brainchild, The Broker List, that had benefited from her resource and contacts that would also probably like to have the opportunity to meet her and each other. As a result, Linda and I concocted The Broker List ICSC RECON16 Meet Up.
